Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Coax ("the app"), an IPTV player published by Hungry Gorilla ("we", "us", "the developer"). By downloading or using Coax, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Please read this first. Coax is only a media player. It does not provide, host, sell, bundle or supply any channels, streams, films, series or other content, and it comes with no subscription. You supply your own lawful IPTV service; Coax simply plays what that service delivers.

1. What Coax is

Coax is a software application that lets you connect to an IPTV service you already subscribe to and watch live channels, an electronic programme guide (EPG), and on-demand films and series through a modern interface. You configure it by entering the server address, username and password provided by your own IPTV provider. Until you log in, the app may display sample/demo channels for illustration only.

2. Your content & your provider

All channels, streams and media accessible through Coax are delivered by the third-party IPTV provider whose credentials you enter. We have no control over, involvement in, or responsibility for:

Your relationship with your IPTV provider is solely between you and that provider and is governed by their terms. You are responsible for selecting a provider and for ensuring you have the rights to access whatever you view through it.

3. Lawful use

You agree to use Coax only for lawful purposes and only with content you are legally entitled to access. You must not use the app to receive, stream, copy or distribute content in violation of any copyright, licence or applicable law. Piracy and unauthorised streaming are strictly not condoned. You are solely responsible for the sources you connect to and the content you access, and you agree that the developer bears no responsibility for your choices or their consequences.

4. Free use & tips

Coax is provided free of charge. The app may offer an optional "tip jar" or similar in-app purchase that lets you voluntarily support ongoing development. Tips are optional, unlock no exclusive functionality that is required to use the app, and are non-refundable except where required by law or Apple's policies. All purchases are processed by Apple through your App Store account and are subject to Apple's terms.

5. Intellectual property

The Coax app, its name, the Hungry Gorilla name and logo, its design, code and original artwork are owned by the developer and are protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, in accordance with the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell or redistribute the app except as permitted by law. Third-party trademarks, channel names and artwork shown through your provider remain the property of their respective owners.

Coax includes third-party open-source software. In particular, it uses VLCKit, © the VideoLAN project and its contributors, under the GNU Lesser General Public License, version 2.1; the corresponding source is available at code.videolan.org. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under that licence with respect to the covered components. A summary of open-source components is listed on the Coax acknowledgements section.

6. No warranty

Coax is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every provider, or that any particular stream will play. You use the app at your own risk.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or content, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) Coax or any third-party provider or content accessed through it. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

8. Apple App Store terms

You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Hungry Gorilla only, and not with Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app. Apple is not responsible for the app or any claims relating to it (including product-liability claims, consumer-protection claims, or claims that the app fails to conform to legal requirements). In the event of any failure of the app to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on any U.S. Government restricted-parties list, and that you will comply with all applicable third-party terms when using the app.

9. Changes & termination

We may update the app and these Terms from time to time; the "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. You may stop using Coax at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or discontinue the app, in whole or in part, at any time.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the developer's country of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights available to you where you live.
